ABOUT

HI, I’M KRISNA

I’m Krisna Malani, a counsellor and the founder of Self Care Club. I started my private practice to shift how we think about therapy — from something we secretly turn to when we’re at breaking point or in crisis, to something we can openly embrace as part of taking care of ourselves.

Sometimes, self care is therapy.

Sessions with me are a place to pause, be honest about what's going on, and feel supported as you work through it. Therapy can involve hard moments, but I don't believe it needs to feel clinical or relentlessly serious — there's room for laughter too! My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally sensitive and tailored to you. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are, and together we'll make sense of what you're experiencing, understand your patterns, and work towards change that aligns with your values and goals.

My journey to becoming a counsellor was shaped by my own experience of healing from childhood trauma through therapy. I know personally how transformative therapy can be, and how meaningful it is to have a space where you feel truly seen, heard and understood. As a South Asian woman raised between the East and West and educated in international schools, I have navigated multiple identities and, at times, felt underrepresented and misunderstood within the mental health system. These experiences have guided the way I show up for my clients — with curiosity, empathy, openness, respect and genuine care. I believe in creating a therapeutic space where you can feel safe to be yourself, explore what you’re going through, and feel understood without judgement.

REVIEWS

"Krisna has been invaluable in helping me navigate my work stress and burnout, as well as unpacking my childhood traumas. She's been a great listener and encouraging, knowing when to push me and when to give me the space to process my feelings."

"I found Krisna to be someone who I could open up to easily and bear my true emotions and feelings to. She was never someone who gave me the easy way or solution to things, always encouraging me to come up with interventions that I felt confident in executing myself. When a particular therapy approach didn’t work for me, she gave me so many back up options to find the perfect fit too!"

"Krisna has helped me deal with my social anxiety. I have learnt techniques to deal with the social anxiety that I've had since I was a child. Seeing the improvement has been encouraging and hopefully there is more to come."
